Hope for Josh — Support for Kali and Their Sons

This fundraiser is being organized by an anonymous donor to support Josh and his family during a critical medical emergency.

Josh was admitted to the hospital after experiencing severe pain that quickly escalated into a life-threatening situation. What initially appeared to be gallbladder inflammation rapidly progressed into septic shock, requiring intensive care and emergency intervention.

Josh was transferred to Fairview Hospital, where he was taken directly into surgery. Doctors discovered a gallstone lodged in his bile ducts, causing a severe infection that spread into his bloodstream. Josh remains critically ill, on a ventilator, and heavily sedated while doctors work to stabilize him and control the infection.

Josh has E. coli in his blood, is receiving dialysis due to multiple organs being affected, and continues to be treated with strong antibiotics under the care of infectious disease specialists. He also has cardiomyopathy, which significantly complicates his condition and limits treatment options.

At this time, Josh remains in septic shock. Doctors have explained that this is an extremely serious, life-threatening condition, and there is no guarantee of survival. His medical team is taking things hour by hour, closely monitoring his condition and adjusting treatment as needed. The coming days are critical.

1/8/26 – Update --
~ "Josh had a good night. His nurse, Chris, was able to accomplish a lot, and his blood work is continuing to show improvement. The medical team shared that his liver levels have improved drastically, which were their exact words. There are still a few levels being closely monitored, which they say is expected at this stage.

Yesterday morning Josh’s ventilator support was at 100%, and today it has been reduced to 40%, which is an encouraging sign.

Today, the team attempted to reduce and stop some of his medications. Unfortunately, Josh’s body was not able to tolerate those changes, so the medications were resumed. The medical team will round again in the morning to discuss and determine the next best plan.

Josh also experienced some difficulty maintaining body temperature and was considered mildly hypothermic. This was not considered an emergent concern, as it was only slightly below the low end of normal. After a few hours, they were able to successfully warm him, and pulses were again detected in his feet.

Thank you all for the continued prayers, love, and support. They truly mean everything during this time." ~

Josh and his wife, Kali, have three sons — Hunter, Robbie, and Logan. With Josh critically ill and hospitalized, Kali has had to step away from work to remain by his side and care for their family. As the hospital stay continues, household bills and everyday living expenses are rapidly adding up.

Prayers are urgently needed. Any donation, no matter the amount, will help support Kali and the boys during this incredibly difficult time and allow the family to focus on Josh’s care and recovery. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this page and keeping Josh and his family in your prayers.

Thank you for the continued prayers, love, and support.
