We have two daughters who have been diagnosed with Autism. Jesslyan, our eldest daughter, is 11 years old; starting at age two, she received ABA behavioral therapy, speech and language therapy, feeding therapy, and occupational therapy in Puerto Rico. Later—with our eldest daughter's best interests in mind—we decided to leave everything behind and move to the United States, specifically to Texas, where we found resources, schools, and therapies better suited to her specific diagnosis. She has made progress, though not quite as much as we had initially hoped. She is a non-verbal child; she tends to wander off, lacks a sense of danger, engages in "stimming" behaviors, cries over seemingly everything, and lacks independence. In short, we have done absolutely everything within our power as parents. Our younger daughter, Anaya, is 4 years old and was diagnosed with Autism at the age of three. She is verbal, highly sensory-sensitive, a picky eater, selective regarding her food choices, and not very social. After living in Texas for several years, we learned about MeRT therapy—a non-invasive neurological treatment that utilizes magnetic waves to specifically target and stimulate the areas of the brain responsible for proper function and connectivity, thereby fostering greater learning and independence. MeRT therapy represents a new hope that our daughters will be able to communicate functionally and become independent individuals in the future. It is a journey we wish to embark upon with your assistance; through faith, we believe you will witness their personal and academic progress firsthand. This treatment is costly, but we know it is a powerful alternative that could truly work for them—and with your support, we hope to raise the necessary funds to make it happen. Tenemos unas hijas que fueron diagnosticadas con Autismo. Jesslyan, nuestra hija mayor, tiene 11 años y desde los dos años de edad estuvo tomando terapia de la conducta ABA, terapia del habla y lenguaje, "feeding therapy" y terapia ocupacional en Puerto Rico. Luego pensando en el beneficio de nuestra hija mayor decidimos dejarlo todo y mudarnos para los Estados Unidos en Texas donde encontramos recursos, escuelas y terapias adecuadas para ella en su diagnóstico. Ha mejorado, pero no lo suficiente como habíamos pensado. Es una niña no verbal, se fuga, no mide peligros, hace "stimming", llora por todo, no es independiente; en fin, hemos hecho todo lo que está a nuestro alcance como Padres.

Nuestra pequeña hija, Anaya, tiene 4 años de edad y fue diagnoticada con Autismo a sus 3 añitos. Ella es verbal, muy sensorial, picky para comer, selectiva en los alimentos y no es muy social.

Después de varios años viviendo en Texas, nos hemos informado acerca de las terapias MeRT, que es un tratamiento neurológico no invasivo, que usa ondas magnéticas para ayudar exactamente las áreas del cerebro que se necesitan estimular para el buen funcionamiento y la conectividad, creando mayor aprendizaje e independencia.

Esta terapia MeRT es una nueva esperanza para que nuestras hijas puedan comunicarse funcionalmente y ser personas independientes en el futuro. Es un camino que queremos recorrer junto con la ayuda de ustedes, y por Fe, serán testigos de su avance personal y académico. Es un tratamiento costoso, pero sabemos que es una alternativa poderosa que puede funcionar para ellas y que con su apoyo lograremos obtener el monto necesario.
