Months ago, Jenifer said yes to the love of her life, Ezra. She got engaged, glowing with happiness, and excited to build a future with her fiancé. She had a future full of love, family, and plans finally coming together.
But less than a year later, her world shattered.
After over a year of being dismissed by doctors, shuffled between clinics, and told “it’s probably nothing,” Jenifer was finally diagnosed with Stage IV cervical cancer this week. While being ignored, the disease had been growing and spreading. As a result of this, it has now unfortunately become deeply advanced.
Jenifer just turned 30. She should be wedding planning, dreaming about travel, and building a life. Instead, she’s fighting for it.
Why We’re Asking for Help:
Her cancer is not curable, but it is treatable. And we believe, with everything in us, that she can beat the odds with the right care and support. After all, Jenifer has defied any statistical odds and every hardship she has faced. She has been resilient through everything and still has a heart of gold.
She’s now preparing to undergo an intense combination of chemotherapy and radiation, while also navigating complications, procedures, and a rapidly changing body. Her days are filled with uncertainty, physical pain, and overwhelming emotional toll; however, she is meeting it all with grace and grit because after all, it is our Jenny we all know and love.
With Jenifer unable to work, and Ezra as her primary caretaker, the stress of bills, medications, and survival should not be theirs to carry alone.
We’re raising funds to help with:
• Travel and treatment at the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton
• Medications and medical supplies not fully covered
• Rent and basic living expenses
• At-home support and recovery needs
• Family travel so we can be by her side
• Comfort, care, and quality of life, because she deserves peace while fighting
Who Jenifer Is:
Jenifer is the kind of person who makes you feel like you’re home, even if you’re a stranger. Easy going, but she's a firecracker when warranted, fiercely loyal, funny as hell and has always, always been the one who shows up for others. That's why she has dedicated her life to taking care of those who need it as a healthcare aide in senior care and respite for autistic children. Often, families spoke about the level of care and love given to their valued family members, and that's just who she is. If you've had the lucky chance of meeting her, you have felt that warmth. She lights up rooms she's not even in, and her contagious personality has reached people wide and far. To know her is a gift.
She’s never asked for much. She’s not one to complain. But now, she needs our help, urgently.
How You Can Help:
If you’re able to give anything, anything at all, it will mean the world. And if you can’t donate, please share this with those who might.
We are all holding on to hope. Jenifer deserves to keep dreaming, to keep fighting, and to keep planning that wedding.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for standing with her and with us.
