Jeffery is a vibrant, intelligent, selfless and compassionate 12-year-old whose life has unfortunately taken a drastic and unimaginable turn due to a devastating diagnoses of end-stage kidney disease. Jeffery was born with a Posterior Urethral Valve (PUV) defect, which unfortunately went undetected in early childhood and was later misdiagnosed as a neurogenic bladder. Regrettably, this delay resulted in irreversible damage to his kidneys and bladder. Jeffery is now facing a long and uncertain road to treatments and recovery; we are praying hard for a miracle and full healing.
Jeffery has a genuine heart for service and dreams of becoming a medical doctor one day. He is a well-behaved and brilliant student who actively works toward that goal through his involvement in school and church activities. He demonstrates leadership, responsibility, and a deep commitment to making a difference, and he is motivated to build a future that allows him to help and uplift others.
He is a kind soul who loves spending time with family and friends. He enjoys playing football, board games, and riding his bicycle. Jeffery is being raised by his devoted single mother, who has always gone above and beyond to support his dreams, passions, and goals. The bond they share is powerful, and this sudden tragedy has placed an overwhelming emotional and financial burden on them both.
At such a young age, Jeffery has already endured more pain, fear, and uncertainty than many do in a lifetime. While other children are focused on school, friends, and dreams for the future, Jeffery’s days have been filled with hospital rooms, invasive procedures, and relentless treatments that no child should ever have to face.
Three times every week, Jeffery must undergo dialysis just to stay alive. The draining treatments are exhausting, often leaving him so weak that he cannot even return to school the next day. Dialysis keeps his heart beating, but it cannot give him the vibrant, carefree life every child deserves.
Dialysis is only a temporary bridge. Jeffery’s true chance at life is a kidney transplant — and by God’s grace, a donor has already been found. However, before this miracle can happen, the cost of weekly dialysis, bladder augmentation surgery, and the transplant itself has placed an overwhelming emotional and financial burden on Jeffery and his devoted mother, who is fighting tirelessly to save her child. The total cost of treatment exceeds $40,000 USD, an amount far beyond the financial capacity of his single mother.
