Hope for Jackson - Rayna & Jackson’s Medical Expenses

Hello,

My name is Maddie, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my beloved sister Rayna and my incredible nephew Jackson, who are in urgent need of financial support during an extremely challenging time.

Last week, Jackson was rushed to UC Davis after experiencing a severe seizure. He has since been admitted and remains hospitalized. This unexpected medical emergency has brought on an overwhelming number of emotional and financial burdens that Rayna is facing alone.

Jackson is a bright, joyful, deeply loving 13-year-old boy who adores his mama and has a smile that can light up a room. He lives with a rare, terminal genetic disorder called Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC Type 2), along with non-verbal autism and other complex health conditions. TSC causes tumors to form in multiple organs—including the brain, heart, kidneys, and gastrointestinal system—requiring 24/7 care that my sister has selflessly provided for his entire life.

There is currently no cure for TSC-2, and while we do everything we can to manage his symptoms, seizures are a constant and heartbreaking part of his life. As Jackson has grown, his seizures have become more dangerous, sometimes happening multiple times a day without warning. These episodes have caused serious physical trauma, including broken bones and significant pain due to tumors now forming in his bones as well.

Jackson is currently preparing for a G-tube placement surgery, and soon after, he will need an additional procedure to address a severe tooth infection that has spread into his bloodstream. These urgent medical interventions, along with the unplanned hospital stay, have left Rayna facing mounting expenses—from medical bills and medications to lost income and essential home care needs.

If you know Rayna, you know she’s not one to ever ask for help. She is one of the most selfless, loving people I’ve ever known, and she pours every ounce of herself into giving Jackson the most fulfilling life possible.
