Hello everyone!
We would like to extend a heartfelt appeal on behalf of our dear friend, Hope Aguilar, who is currently suffering from a recurrence of cancer and undergoing painful chemotherapy treatments.
She is an amazing woman, English teacher, basketball coach, driving instructor, and US Navy and Army veteran. Hope has already survived ovarian cancer once and despite being in remission for several years, with vigilant attention to her health, the cancer has returned.
While she was teaching English to young women in Saudi Arabia, Hope was a staunch advocate for women's rights, healthy living, and education. It's now our turn to advocate for her as the harsh results of of her intense chemo regimen disable her from working.
Hope needs help to cover her basic expenses as she battles the cancer that's trying to take her from us. She finds it very difficult to ask for help, because she doesn't want to be a burden; but this time the chemo is crippling. Hope is bravely dealing with blurry vision, neuropathy, excruciating bone pain, abdominal cramping, and exhaustion - and the chemo's side effects are progressively getting worse. No one should live in a world where they have to face this alone.
Could you please pitch in to help our friend? The silver lining to all of this is that the chemo is actually working and there's a chance she may not need surgery. To have peace of mind that living expenses such as food, rent, and utilities will be covered at least for the next little while would give Hope the time and space to fully focus on her recovery. We just want to make sure she can beat the chemo without worrying about her next meal or her rent. Let's pull together as a community to give to someone who has given so much of herself, and kindly donate whatever you can. Thank you so much!
