Hope For Henry - Power Chair Appeal

Henry is 9 years old — bright, hilarious, cheeky, and full of life. He also lives with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), a rare and life-limiting condition that causes his muscles to weaken over time.

Henry can no longer walk, and even standing supported is now almost impossible. He is fully dependent on a wheelchair — the one that many of you helped us buy a few years ago. That chair gave Henry his independence… and we’re so grateful.

But now, we’ve reached a new stage in Henry’s journey — and we need your help again.

Why We’re Fundraising

Henry desperately needs a specialist cross-country power wheelchair — one that will allow him to:

Explore the outdoors safely

Stay independent as he grows

Keep doing the things he loves most

Henry still loves being outside — throwing stones into the lake, rolling through the woods, and playing in the garden with his dog. But his current manual wheelchair just can’t keep up anymore, and NHS-provided chairs sadly don’t offer the mobility or outdoor capability he needs.

A suitable cross-country power chair will allow Henry to remain mobile, active, and included, even as his condition progresses.

Our Goal

We’re aiming to raise £15,000 to purchase a fully adapted all-terrain power wheelchair, tailored to Henry’s needs — including terrain-ready wheels, postural support, and long battery life for real adventures.
