Dear Friends,
My name is Vera Mendoza, and I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart. My dad, Hector Mendoza— a beloved friend to many, dedicated mentor, inspiring musician, loving husband and father—has been diagnosed with cancer. The symptoms seemed small at first, but a persistent fever led him to seek treatment, which revealed Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).
Leukemia has turned our world upside down. As we hold on to hope and stay focused on my dad's recovery, the financial strain continues to build. Any support you can offer will go a long way in easing this burden.
Since his immune system is weakened by chemotherapy, we're limiting visits and avoiding crowds to protect him. However, there are still many ways you can show him support:
