I'm Breyana's mom, and it's not like us to have to ask for help, but at this time, we're unfortunately going to need to! Here's this family's story from Breyana's own words:
This is my son Harlen. Born 8 weeks early and weighing a little over a pound, he's been fighting for his life since the second he was born. At 9 months old, he's had countless surgeries to repair all the things wrong with his little body.
He has a long list of issues and deformities/abnormalities within his body, including Hypoplastic aortic arch, Severe BPD (bronchopulmonary dysplasia), Omphalocele, but most importantly, Pulmonary vein stenosis, which is narrowing the veins to his lungs and making it impossible for him to get or keep good oxygen stats.
It's been a hard time since he's been born, going back and forth to Cincinnati. Manny has had to miss so much work to be with us.
Now Harlen is declining fast, he's had multiple 'events' in the last two weeks, including at least one that he coded. Needless to say, Manny and I have been in Cincinnati with him since he started declining 2 weeks ago, and with Manny being off work unpaid, we're really struggling to keep all our bills paid. It's getting to a point where Manny may have to go back to work and leave Harlen in such bad shape at a very serious time, so I'm doing something I've never done before.
I'm asking for help. There's still so much uncertainty with Harlen and what will happen to him in the coming days/weeks as they are planning on weaning him off ECMO soon. He deserves to have his family around him, showing him all the love he needs in the event the most dreadful outcome happens.
Every donation will help us make sure all our bills are paid and we can continue caring for our other 2 children while being with Harlen.
Please, if you have it in your heart, help this dear family. Any donations are appreciated! If you cannot donate, please continue to pray for them!
