Hope For Ghana: Finish building the Masjid !

I initiated this fundraising effort with the heartfelt intention of honoring all our departed loved ones, cherishing their memory by sending blessings to their souls resting in their graves. This endeavor serves as a tribute to their unwavering dedication to serving Allah and their profound love for the teachings of the Quran. They spent their lives immersed in its wisdom, either learning its profound lessons, imparting its knowledge to others, or inspiring fellow believers to follow its path.
In loving memory of all our departed loved ones especially dear Brother Muhieddine Dean Makkaoui, Brother Omar Nofal, Sister Abir Hafez and my student Ahmed Saleh , we are committed to continuing our fundraising campaign to build a mosque and Quran school in Ghana.
Four dedicated students from Ghana embarked on a remarkable journey in Jordan, where they diligently pursued Islamic studies and committed to memorizing the Holy Quran. After successfully graduating from a university in Jordan, they returned to their impoverished village in Ghana, a place devoid of a mosque or an institution to impart Quranic and Islamic knowledge to children.
In response to this dire need, these four Sheikhs took it upon themselves to establish a Saturday school within a humble room to educate local children. However, this small space is now overcrowded with eager learners, lacking proper desks, boards, and essential school supplies. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, these four students harbored a grander vision — to build a mosque and a school dedicated to Quranic education.
They turned to the generosity of their Jordanian benefactors, who initially supported their noble cause, leading to the inception of the mosque and school foundation. Regrettably, the flow of funds came to an abrupt halt, causing the project to come to a standstill.
Now, with unwavering determination, these four Sheikhs have sought assistance from us, their fellow Muslim brothers and sisters in the United States. They approach us with a plea to help provide a dignified place of worship, a mosque, and a proper school for underprivileged children in their town. This initiative represents an ongoing act of charity, as long as people gather for prayers in the mosque and generations continue to learn in the school.
It is an urgent necessity for this community, a chance for us to make a lasting impact, and an opportunity to ensure that the light of Islamic knowledge shines brightly in this town for years to come.
After the events of October 7th, the Masjid project was put on hold due to the halt in donations. Ghana, not being a predominantly Muslim country, depends on the support of the Muslim Ummah through Zakah and charity. We kindly urge you to donate and spread the word on your social media platforms to expedite the completion of the Masjid before Ramadan. This will enable them to celebrate and perform Eid prayers within its walls. Your contribution will make a significant difference.
