I wanted to share an update on Ewie’s journey and our next steps for him.

Unfortunately it is not the update we had hoped to be able to share.

As many of you know, Ewie has been fighting an incredibly tough battle. Ewie’s cancer started as an osteosarcoma in his arm and later spread to his lungs.

Over the past two years, this little boy has endured numerous rounds of chemo, surgeries on his lungs, and even the devastating amputation of his arm.

Despite all conventional treatments, it is still progressing — his latest scans showed the spots on his lungs have doubled in size over the past two months. If this trajectory continues, things could become very challenging in the coming months.

These latest results are heartbreaking, but we are not giving up. Ewie’s medical team has been very supportive, helping his parents Jess and Alex explore every possible path — from conventional therapies to promising new and complementary approaches — that might give him more time, comfort, and hopefully a chance at turning things around.

Here’s where things are heading:

We are combining ongoing medical care with carefully chosen integrative therapies that aim to strengthen Ewie’s immune system and help his body recognise and fight the cancer. This includes a mix of treatments being used overseas with some encouraging results. Much of this research is coming from Europe, where they are more open to integrating complementary therapies alongside standard oncology treatment. Many of these are not covered here in Australia and have to be paid for out of pocket.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone who has donated so far, Jess and Alex have been able to focus on Ewie for the past two years — keeping their home, managing daily life, and giving him the love and care he needs through every challenge.

But now, the focus has shifted. The next phase of treatment — the one that could truly make a difference — comes with a huge cost. We’re talking hundreds of thousands of dollars to access the therapies, testing and medical support that could extend and improve Ewie’s life.

Every single donation helps open the door to another possibility — another treatment, another trial, another day filled with hope.
