Hope in every Donation - Help Melly fight cancer again

Hello, my name is Keiko and I am writing to you on behalf of my Mom and my Sisters.

We wouldn't be able to get through the last challenging 2 years of our Mom's life if it weren't for everyone's help.

Here we are once again, knocking at your hearts for help in raising funds for our Mom’s treatment. This battle has been ongoing for almost 3 years and yet our Mom’s fighting spirit is still strong. We humbly ask for you to include our Mom in your prayers and every single cent will go to our mom’s medical costs.

The past few weeks have been incredibly tough for our family.

Our Mom has always been a fighter, facing every challenge with quiet courage and unwavering strength. She is a radiant light in our lives, full of joy and positivity, always lifting the spirits of those around her, especially those walking a similar path.

For several months now, Mom has been silently battling health issues. We’ve spent countless days going in and out of hospitals, ER visits and short-term confinements, hoping each time that tomorrow would be a better day.

Three weeks ago, everything changed.

What we initially thought was another episode of gastritis quickly escalated into something far more serious. After rushing her to the ER once again, doctors began urging immediate surgery, despite her weakened immune system and fragile condition. With no clear diagnosis and very little compassion or communication, we were told that surgery was the only option. But it didn’t feel right. Not to us and especially not to Mom, who began to experience severe panic attacks and anxiety due to the pressure and uncertainty.

After a heartbreaking week of fear and confusion, we made the decision to bring her home and seek a second opinion. That decision gave us something we hadn’t felt in a while—hope.

Two weeks ago, we met a new doctor, someone who truly listened, explained everything with clarity, and most importantly, cared. That’s when we finally got the answers we’d been seeking… and along with it, the painful truth, Mom has cancer again.

We are now entering a new chapter in her battle. There will be treatments, medications, tests and eventually, when her body is strong enough for surgery.

On the last Friday of July, we rushed Mom to the ER again due to severe dehydration caused by constant vomiting—one of the complications of her condition. Thankfully, through the care of the doctors, she stabilized and was discharged by Monday the following week. However,

Last Saturday, we rushed her to the ER once more and she has been confined since. She has now been diagnosed with advanced cancer, a rare condition called Pseudomyxoma Peritonei. Tomorrow, doctors will be performing an improvised dual lumen nasojejunal feeding tube procedure to help nourish her body.

Our medical expenses continue to grow each day. The emergency funds we’ve carefully set aside over the past months are now running low. After this procedure and once she’s discharged, we’ll begin chemotherapy, followed by surgery after a few cycles.

Today, we are humbly reaching out to you, our community, our friends, and our extended family for help. Whether through prayers, financial support or simply sharing our story, every bit counts.

To raise funds for her care, we are currently doing a fundraiser back home with the help of friends and families to sell tote bags, baked goods, art commissions, and more.

Our Mom has always been a beacon of strength, joy, and unconditional love. She’s faced life with grace and resilience. And now, she needs us to fight alongside her.

This journey won’t be easy. But we believe in miracles, in compassion, and in the kindness of people like you. With your support, we can give her the best chance at recovery.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us in this battle. Your love and support mean the world.

As we continue this journey with our beloved Mom, we are humbly asking for your help. To give her the best possible care, we need to raise at least ₱600,000 (14,500 CAD). This will cover her current hospital expenses and the critical treatments ahead, including:

  • Improvised dual-lumen nasojejunal feeding tube procedure – approx. ₱25,000–₱30,000 (600-700CAD) (procedure only; doctor’s professional fee not yet included)

  • Current hospitalization costs – we will update soon with the latest running bill

  • Chemotherapy – estimated ₱60,000–₱80,000 (1,400-2,000CAD) per cycle

  • Major surgery – estimated at ₱250,000–₱300,000 (6,000-7,200CAD), depending on her condition and surgical approach

  • *Chemotherapy and Surgery are both procedures only; doctor’s professional fee not yet included.*

This amount is overwhelming for our family, but we believe in the power of community and the kindness of those around us.

Every donation brings us closer to our goal and gives our Mom a fighting chance at recovery.

Thank you so much for being part of this journey with us. Your prayers, your messages, your support, financial or others, mean more than we can ever express.
