Hello everyone, I know it’s been a long time since there have been any updates on Ethan and his medical conditions, but things have gotten considerably worse over the last few months, and it’s getting to the point where Ethan doesn’t think he has much time left. I know that’s hard to read, but things are very, very bad right now. To give some background on the situation, Ethan has been dealing with what we now know as Occult Tethered Cord and Cervical Instability since 2016. In the beginning, we had no idea what was going on…

If you’ve been following this story since then, you know he’s had so many tests done and seen so many doctors, and all of them came back with nothing to show. Nobody could tell Ethan what was wrong with him or what was happening to his body. He was slowly losing control of things and getting severe weakness throughout his body. Pounding headaches, blurry vision, stretching of the spinal cord, and many other symptoms have caused him a great amount of torture for the last several years.

Now, to add to all the pain and suffering that he has endured, Ethan’s primary caregiver (his mother) passed away unexpectedly last year, which has delayed him from getting any medical attention. He was moved to his grandmother’s house and has since rapidly declined.

We feel like this could be a last-ditch effort, but as of right now, our only hope is to get Ethan to Rhode Island to see Doctor Petra Klinge. She is the only doctor that I have found that can do the surgeries necessary to possibly save Ethan’s life… but the biggest roadblock we have now is insurance. There is no insurance he can get that will get him in to see her. The Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance he has here in Texas will not be accepted. So, we want to try and raise enough money to pay for it out of pocket, but it has to be as soon as possible, or it will be too late. Waiting too long now could mean his spinal cord could tear away from the base of his skull and quite possibly kill him. This could be the hardest thing I’ve ever had to write, but I have to be straightforward.

Any donations would be used strictly for any bills for Ethan’s surgery as well as travel expenses to get him there. We would most likely have to rent something he would be comfortable in for a long period of time while traveling.
