Emma's journey 2 beat breast cancer
Donation protected
Gorgeous Emma needs our help.

She was recently given the devastating news that at 24 years of age, she has breast cancer. This is extremely rare for a young woman, as less than 1% of breast cancer occurs in women under 25. The news has come at the stage when Emma's whole life is just starting to bloom.
Emma is only 4 weeks from finishing her degree in Disability and Developmental Education and looking forward to a vocation that she is truly drawn to. Emma and her partner Matt have only in the last 12 months moved into their newly built home. This has brought great joy to all the family.
Those of you who know the Stanley family, would be aware that they have already endured and survived more than most people experience in a lifetime. When Emma was just 12 years old her 21-year-old sister, Kate passed away. Kate was a surviving twin, having been born prematurely with her brother Ben at 27 weeks. Sadly, Ben passed away when only a few hours old.
One would have thought that the Stanley family have already had more than their fair share of heartache. As a family they have given so very much to everyone they have met.
Recently a group of friends from MOST (Mums of Surviving Twins) have decided that we would like to fundraise for Emma and Matt. We know that other family and friends have thought similarly.
We would love to raise funds for Emma to:
* Send her tumour to the USA for Genomic testing, which will allow treatment to be tailored specifically to Emma's needs. This test alone will cost $4,500 and is not covered by Medicare or health insurance.
* Bridge the gap between her private health insurance and the out of pocket expenses which may be substantial over her lifetime.
* Fund travel and accommodation while having treatment in Adelaide.
* Help to cover the cost of assistive reproductive treatment including possible egg harvest and IVF in order for Emma and Matt to one day have children.
* Be able to do whatever she needs to make her life just a little bit easier.
* Help her to feel supported by her friends and family who care about her so much.
There is a long road ahead, with doctors expecting a hormone treatment plan for at least the next 5-10 years, then lifelong prevention and monitoring.
This is a fierce fight that Emma will WIN.
We hope that with our help the journey will be a little bit easier and lighter.
This is about paying it forward, if you have ever been touched by the Stanley family, or even if you have never met them, please consider making a contribution to help Emma.
We all want to see her light keep on shining bright!
This is a beautiful story of hope, with a support network that spreads across Australia, and even the world (with the help of our Angel Babies).
Our hope and love for Emma is stronger than this cancer.
Let's help Emma and her beautiful family who have helped so many others, to overcome cancer one day at a time, and say goodbye to it for good!
