Hope for Dawna: A New Beginning
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Meghan, and I’m Dawna’s daughter-in-law. I’m organizing this fundraiser on behalf of our family to support Dawna as she faces an incredibly challenging time in her life—both medically and emotionally. She’s not just my mother-in-law; she’s someone I deeply care about, and it breaks my heart to see her struggling.
Our beloved Dawna is currently in the hospital being treated for acute renal failure. She is facing a long road to recovery and will soon be transferred to a rehabilitation facility due to severe weakness. On top of her physical health challenges, Dawna has also been suffering from severe, debilitating depression, which has left her unable to care for herself in recent months.
Her complex medical and mental health conditions may prevent her from returning to work for the foreseeable future. She is also unable to return to her current living situation—a third-floor apartment that she can no longer safely access. Dawna needs to move into a handicap-accessible home, but she cannot take any of her current furniture with her and will need essentials like a bed, couch, and other household items to start over.
Dawna is someone with the biggest heart in the world. She’s always put others before herself, quietly giving, helping, and showing up for the people she loves—especially her grandchildren, who are her greatest joy. They are her light and motivation, and she dreams of being strong and well enough to be an active part of their lives again.
Funds raised will go directly toward:
• Helping Dawna move to a new, accessible home
• Covering living expenses and bills while she is out of work
• Purchasing furniture and daily necessities
• Making her new space safe and functional for her healing
• Supporting her as she continues treatment for both her physical and mental health
“Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.” — Proverbs 3:27
Any donation, no matter the size—or even just sharing this page—would mean the world to Dawna and our family. Thank you for helping give her a second chance at life, stability, and hope.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Meghan & Family
