Hope for Daisy: Help with Treatment and Recovery
Donation protected
Dear friends and family,
I’m reaching out to you all on behalf of my sister, Daisy, who is bravely battling mesenchymal chondrosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer. Initially diagnosed with a grade 3 meningioma, Daisy’s diagnosis was recently changed, revealing that her condition is more complex than we initially thought. Mesenchymal chondrosarcoma is extremely rare, accounting for less than 5% of all chondrosarcomas, which has made her treatment journey particularly challenging.
Daisy's symptoms began late last year, with debilitating headaches, fatigue, and loss of vision. After multiple doctor and ER visits, her primary doctor decided to refer her to an oncologist who mid visit urged Daisy to go to the ER, where an MRI confirmed a tumor the size of a tangerine. She underwent her first craniotomy the next day, and while we were initially hopeful for her recovery, the remaining tumor grew significantly during the wait for radiation, leading to a second surgery.
With this new diagnosis, Daisy now faces a more aggressive treatment plan that will last for seven weeks of daily radiation therapy at UCLA Medical Center. Unfortunately, we are running into difficulties with insurance coverage for some of her necessary treatments, adding to the financial strain during this incredibly challenging time.
Despite all these setbacks we remain hopeful for Daisy’s recovery. Daisy is an incredible daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who brings so much joy to those around her. Truly, to know her is to love her. She is such a positive bright light who has continued to truly stay optimistic throughout this entire ordeal. We believe with aggressive treatment and support, she can return to her vibrant self. . We’re asking for your help to ease this burden. Your support will go directly toward medical bills, housing, travel expenses, and past due bills, allowing us to focus on what truly matters: Daisy’s health and well-being.
Thank you for your kindness, love, and support during this difficult journey. Please share this campaign with anyone who may wish to help Daisy.
With Gratitude,
