In life, they say troubles come in threes, but for my dear friend Alicia and her family, it feels like an unrelenting storm. My name is Jacquelyn, and I'm reaching out once more for support, just as we did years ago for Alicia's daughter, Ashley. Back then, Ashley battled Hodgkin's Lymphoma at 18 while her father fought Parkinson's, leaving their family in turmoil. Thanks to your generosity, Ashley triumphed over her illness and has stayed healthy since.

However, fate has dealt another blow. Now, Alicia's son Conrad, only 19, faces his own battle with Primary Mediastinal Large B-Cell Lymphoma, a formidable foe demanding aggressive chemotherapy treatment. He has a large tumor cause the the Lymphoma pressing on his lungs and heart.

Despite these challenges, the medical team at MD Anderson has swiftly begun Conrad's treatment, giving us hope. Conrad's journey involves five-day chemotherapy cycles every few weeks at MD Anderson, a grueling regimen that keeps him hospitalized for seven days each time. The hospital is over two hours away from their home, adding immense strain to their daily lives.

Alicia has shouldered the responsibility of supporting she and Conrad, a college student, on her own. With Conrad's diagnosis, she faces the daunting task of taking unpaid leave to be by his side throughout treatment. The financial burden is overwhelming, compounded by travel costs, health insurance payments and deductible, lodging near the hospital, and the upkeep of their household.

Conrad is also determined to continue his college studies in Cyber Security while undergoing treatment, and the fundraiser will help offset these educational costs as well. Despite the challenges he’s facing he remains resilient, often smiling and staying upbeat and positive.
