Our dear daughter, Chelsea, has been battling a debilitating illness for 6 years. For 5 of those years, she has been housebound and completely unable to live her life or function. She went from a charismatic, lively, energetic, talented woman who was pursuing her dreams of being in theatre, to a life of fighting for her health, spending years in hospitals, Doctors offices, clinics and much more. We have been to hundreds of Doctors over the years trying to get to the bottom of why her poor body has been slowly deteriorating. She's been misdiagnosed many times. In 2013 she was diagnosed with CFS/M.E., POTS and Dysautonomia which is correct, but we never got to the root cause of her diagnosis. However, last year we found out that she has been dealing with chronic infections. She was on antibiotics and antivirals for this last year which only made her condition worse with very little improvement in her infections. It's so heartbreaking seeing your daughter who has endless potential, talent, and beauty, unable to live or have any quality of life while fighting every day with symptoms that are so disorientating and debilitating that she can barely talk to her family here at home. She's trapped in a body that won't allow her to do all the things she longs to do. She misses her health, her independence, her clarity, her energy, her voice, her physical strength and more. Yet, through it all, her smile, her kindness, her humor, her hope, her faith, and her grace still remains; despite her aching heart. Even on the days her face is swollen from crying her eyes out and begging for this to end, she pulls herself up and tries again. She has never given up, even when she has wanted to. We have witnessed her strength and her bravery first hand. Could you imagine being ill every single day, with no relief, for 6 years; forgetting what it feels like to feel good? Her resilience and her will to keep going while holding on to her unrelenting faith and hope of recovering, is awe inspiring. We watch as her heart breaks every day for all she wants to do in the world; she yearns to do good, to smile at strangers, to get back to pursuing her dreams of being on the stage (oh, how we miss her beautiful, powerful voice and stage presence), help others going through what she's going through, drive, practice yoga, rescue dogs, go to the movies, travel, go on adventures, go to Disneyland, see her friends, be around her family and to do the simple things us normal, healthy folks don't have to even think about. She just wants to LIVE.
This is where you come in...
On Thursday, we met with Dr.Phil Battiade, a doctor from Germany and founder of Infusio Clinic in Beverly Hills. Since we know she has infections and they specialize in chronic disease, we reached out to get an appointment, in hopes that this could finally be something that could help her. The appointment was overwhelming and quite a lot to process, but we feel strongly that the treatment Dr. Battiade provides at Infusio will help Chelsea regain her health. At the appointment, we found out more about what is going on inside her body in one visit than we have in all the years of her being sick. We found out that her body is indeed very ill for a reason. We discovered that she has 3 tick borne infections (which are comparable to Lyme) that are damaging her neurological system, along with 4 other viruses and infections. Her immune system isn't working the way it should, her body is being attacked on all fronts, her damaged cells are multiplying and creating even more damaged cells, every system in her body is completely thrown out of balance, shutting down and cannot heal themselves without proper treatment.

At the Infusio Clinic, they gave us a new found hope. The treatments they provide for patients like Chelsea include immune modulation using thymus injections, microbial IV therapies to help get rid of the infections, stem cell therapy/surgery and more. Dr. Battiade told us he feels like Chelsea would be a good patient and would benefit greatly from the treatment. As with any treatment, nothing is guaranteed, but her body showed it was in a state where it has the capacity to heal and is strong enough to do well with this treatment. We've done countless other treatments in the past, but that was before we knew exactly what was going on inside her body. This treatment is specifically based on the underlying cause of her illness and will help her body finally battle these infections, get her immune system working properly, and heal damage that had been done over so many years of deterioration.
Unfortunately, this treatment is a lot of money; way more than we could even try to afford and is not covered by any insurance. We wouldn't be pursuing this treatment if we didn't believe in this Doctor, his knowledge about what Chelsea is going through, and what he can do for our daughter. We feel like we were guided to his clinic and that this treatment will finally help Chelsea get her life back, heal and recover.

Chelsea truly has been such an inspiration with all she has been going through. She has such a kind, good heart with all of this talent and potential bottled up in this body that is failing her. She has been suffering for so long. It's hard to watch your child struggle so horribly. As a parent you feel utterly helpless but with your help, we hope to see her rise and soar out into the world, making it a better place with all she's learned and all she has become, traveling on this hard and painful road.
