It will be 46 years ago on July 9 that we welcomed a beautiful, bright-eyed baby girl into our lives — Chantelle. She has grown into an amazing woman and a loving mother to Austin and Mariah. Chantelle has always been the kind of person who would help anyone in need without hesitation.

Now, as her mom, I’m the one reaching out for help — for Chantelle.

On January 18, 2024, I took her to the emergency room in severe pain. After hours of waiting, we received devastating news: two tumors had been found in her bowel. Further tests confirmed it was colon cancer.

I have never seen anyone as strong and determined as my daughter. She has already undergone radiation and chemotherapy. In January of this year, we were told the cancer had progressed to stage 4, and that it is terminal.

Chantelle has created a bucket list of things she hopes to do with Austin and Mariah, but she has not been able to work since her diagnosis. She has now started a more aggressive, indefinite round of chemotherapy.
