Hi, I am Paula, mother of 5-year-old Cecília, who was recently diagnosed with diffuse midline glioma of high grade, formerly known as DIPG, a rare, aggressive, and incurable type of brain cancer. The average life expectancy is 6 to 12 months. We started this campaign because we were accepted into two expanded studies abroad that will provide us with medications not yet approved by Anvisa (Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency), and which give us great hope for stabilizing the disease. However, the costs will be high, in dollars and euros, and therefore we need help to cover airfare (several times a year), food, accommodation, medical exams, and consultations, among other expenses.
