My name is Daniela and I’m fundraising on behalf of my boyfriends dad, who is currently fighting for his life. He has advanced heart failure and severe right-side heart dysfunction. Over this past year he has suffered repeated episodes of ventricular tachycardia (dangerous heart rhythms), kidney strain from fluid overload, and complications that have left him extremely weak and dependent on continuous IV medications and diuretics. His doctors have tried everything multiple ablations, aggressive diuresis, and heart support medications but his condition continues to worsen.

He was finally told that his only real chance at long-term survival would be a heart transplant, but due to his legal status, he does not qualify for the transplant list. Despite this, he continues to fight every day with so much courage.

Right now, he is hospitalized with cardiogenic shock, severe swelling, dangerously low potassium episodes, and constant monitoring of his LVAD and heart rhythm. We don’t know what the next few weeks or months will look like, and our family is preparing for the worst while hoping for a miracle.

We are asking for support to help cover:

    •    Medical expenses that are not covered

    •    Transportation, meals, and lodging for our family during his hospital stays

    •    His ongoing care needs depending on the outcome

    •    Support for end-of-life care if hospice becomes the only option
