Hi, this is Antonette. I started this gofundme to help rebuild lives after the devastating flooding in Canlaon City, Negros Oriental, Philippines.

This is the hometown I grew up in before moving to America for good. Canlaon City is situated at the foot of Mt. Kanlaon, an active volcano and the highest mountain in Visayas, Philippines. Given that, we NEVER have expected the flooding.

In the wake of the unexpected and catastrophic flooding that struck our community, countless families have lost everything. Homes have been destroyed, vital infrastructure washed away, and—most tragically—lives have been lost. One family from our street lost all 7 members of their family. Some children have been left orphaned. Residents don’t have homes to go back to.

What was once a thriving, close-knit community now lies in ruins, with many survivors left without shelter, food, or access to clean water. Canlaon City has limited funds because we have been recently struck with Volcanic Eruption. The entire country, The Philippines, is now under the STATE OF NATIONAL CALAMITY.

We are coming together to support those affected by this disaster—to help them rebuild, recover, and find hope again. Every contribution, NO MATTER HOW SMALL, will go directly toward providing emergency relief, providing basic needs (potable water, medicine, ready-eat-food, milk, and diapers), and assisting families as they begin the long road to recovery.
