Two years ago, at just 38 years old, my son Brad received a diagnosis that changed all of our lives forever: ALS. As a mother, there are no words to describe the pain of watching your child face something so devastating. A devoted husband to Angela and a proud father to three beautiful children—17-year-old Makenzey, 10-year-old Mason, and 5-year-old Melody—Brad has always been the heart of his home.
In the two years since his diagnosis, the disease has progressed rapidly and unforgivingly. Today, Brad cannot breathe without a machine. Though he still has some movement in his arms and legs, he can no longer walk and requires help with every daily task. ALS has taken so much from him physically, but it has not taken his determination or his incredible love for his family.
The cost of ALS care is immense, and unfortunately, insurance does not cover all expenses. From specialized respiratory equipment to home modifications, mobility devices, in-home nursing care, ongoing medical appointments, and alternative or additional treatments that may improve his quality of life, the financial burden is far beyond what their family or their parent’s families can sustain alone.
While funds will be used primarily for Brad’s medical needs and equipment, some donations may also help cover essential living expenses, allowing the family to focus on his care and spend precious time together. Angela’s mom, Shari, will manage the funds to ensure they are put to the best use, and I will provide updates on Brad’s story from time to time so you can see the impact of your generosity
Every donation—large or small—helps ease the heavy burden this family is carrying. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing their story on social media or in any way you can. Spreading the word is an incredible gift.
From a mother’s heart, thank you for standing with my son and his family during the hardest chapter of their lives. Your generosity brings hope, comfort, and strength when it is needed most.
