Hope For Baby Henry

Our precious baby Henry was born on January 9th, at just 35 weeks old, via emergency C-section. From the moment he arrived, his life has been a testament to the power of resilience and determination.

Henry's journey began with a dramatic entrance - he was born with no heartbeat and not breathing. Doctors and nurses worked tirelessly to revive him, and against all odds, he began to breathe on his own. The medical team warned us that his chances of survival were slim, and that even if he made it through the first day, his future would be uncertain.

But Henry is our little miracle. He defied the odds and clung to life, astounding everyone who met him. However, his fight is far from over. Henry is currently in the NICU at the Children's Hospital in Calgary, battling a range of serious health issues.

He's been diagnosed with Hydrops, a rare condition that causes stress and swelling around his organs. He has also developed a potentially life-threatening blood clot in his brain, which is causing immense concern among his medical team. Additionally, he's experiencing liver problems and heart issues, including irregular heart rhythms and poor heart function.

The doctors at the NICU are running countless tests to determine the cause of these issues, and he remains in stable but critical condition.

As Henry's family, we're traveling over two hours back and forth every few days to be by his side. Our lives have been turned upside down, and we've both had to take emergency leave from work to care for him. This has resulted in a significant loss of income, adding financial stress to an already emotional and challenging time.

As we sit by Henry's side, holding his tiny hand and praying for his recovery, we're reminded of the preciousness of life and the importance of never giving up hope. We're not just fighting for Henry's life - we're fighting for the chance to watch him grow up, to see him smile, to hear him laugh, and to experience all the joys of parenthood.
