My best friend's daughter, Ayva-Lee is courageously battling a rare form of epilepsy that is impacting her normal development. This journey has been incredibly tough, emotionally and financially, but we remain hopeful for her healing.

To ensure Ayva gets the constant care she needs, her brave mother had to quit her job and now looks after her full-time. Ayva is not allowed to attend daycare due to her compromised immune system caused by the medication she is on, which makes her vulnerable to infections.

Ayva-Lee requires ongoing neurological consultations, and sadly they are not covered by their medical aid. In addition, she needs to regularly see a neurological physiotherapist, paediatric specialist, and eye specialist. These are currently being paid from their medical savings, which are now nearly depleted, and will soon need to be paid out-of-pocket.

To help cover these rising costs, we have decided to start a Go Fund Me Page and all proceeds will go to Ayva-Lee's medical expenses.
