My grandson Idris III, lovingly called Ali, is almost 3 years old and already the strongest little fighter we know. Shortly after he was born, Ali suffered a severe lack of oxygen to his brain, resulting in a hypoxic brain injury. For several terrifying minutes, his life hung in the balance. Although he survived, the injury left him with cerebral palsy and seizures. Every day since then, Ali has been fighting to overcome challenges most children never have to face. Because of his brain injury, Ali struggles with motor delays, speech delay, and swallowing difficulties, and he requires ongoing medical care and therapies. Despite everything he has been through, Ali is one of the happiest little boys you could ever meet. His bright smile and sweet laugh light up every room, and his strength inspires everyone who knows him.

Recently, our family was given a hopeful opportunity. Ali has been accepted for a specialized donor cell therapy program designed to help children with cerebral palsy caused by brain injury. This treatment aims to support brain repair and improve neurological function, helping children like Ali improve movement, communication, and overall development. For families like ours, this treatment represents hope for a better future. Unfortunately, this treatment is not covered by insurance, and the expense is more than our family can manage alone. All funds raised will go directly toward Ali’s stem cell therapy. If we are blessed to receive more than the cost of treatment, those funds will help cover travel and lodging needed to get Ali to the care he needs.
