On December 5th our friend and co-worker Josh Calhoun learned every parent's worst nightmare. His baby girl has Cancer - Lymphoblastic Leukemia - "B-ALL". Josh is a hard-working, single father of 2 beautiful Children. His son Keagan is 11 and his little girl Alexus is 3. In the upcoming week, Alexus will undergo a spinal tap, and blood tests at Robert H Lurie Childrens Hospital in Chicago to determine the best course of action. The main treatment for children with ALL is chemotherapy, which is usually given in 3 phases: The entire length of treatment is typically 2 to 3 years, with the most intense treatment in the first few months. While we do not know what the future holds, we do know Alexus is a 3-year-old strong-willed beautiful little girl who has the fight of a lifetime ahead of her. Josh will need all the help and support possible without having to worry about missed work or travel expenses during her treatment. We are asking for help so he can focus on Alexus' treatment and recovery while being there for both of his children. Once we know what course treatment is planned, we will share updates. From all of us at LCC who work with Josh, we very much appreciate any help you can offer. Please keep Alexus, Josh and Keagan in your prayers. Thank you!
