Hope for Akuri

Monday, July 3rd was a devastating day for our 9 year old great niece Akuri in St. Louis as she watched her mother (our niece Seychelle) be shot and murdered and barely escaped with a gunshot wound to her hand. She would later find out that her mom’s boyfriend had also shot and murdered her two siblings Kyrien (14) and Ushara (5) and then turned the gun on himself to end his own life.
My sister and mother-in-law are now left to pick up the pieces, handle the remains of their three beloveds, and return to Joplin to begin the healing process for Akuri, who has so much life ahead of her, with no life insurance or resources to speak of.
My hope in posting this fundraiser is that our three lost could be honored and that someday Akuri would know how her community came around her and fought for the life she deserves in spite of such unspeakable tragedy.
