Rebekah and Joe welcomed precious Adalyn Claire into the world on June 18,
Adalyn was born a healthy 8.5 lbs and was perfect in every way. Two weeks later, Rebekah and Joe's world was turned upside down. Adalyn started to feel ill and suddenly spiked a fever of 103.2. Rebekah & Joe immediately called her pediatrician and were advised to quickly get her to an ER. Diagnostic tests indicated Bacterial Meningitis as the source of infection. Adalyn was transported by the Children’s Hospital Emergency Transport Team to Rady’s Children Hospital. She is currently in the NICU and will be there for a minimum of two weeks.
Due to COVID-19 Rebekah & Joe are not able to stay at the local Ronald McDonald House, which normally offers free or low cost housing for families with children at Rady's. Rebekah & Joe have had to stay in hotels, which is very costly for them. In addition to this, they have not been able to access regular services that are offered to support families by social workers at Rady's due to COVID. They are not able to get food assistance, hotel assistance and other necessities.
Rebekah & Joe are extremely humble and would never ask for any help, however they need our help. Would you consider skipping your Starbucks today or your lunch out to help them through these extremely challenging times and take some of the financial burden off of their minds so that they can focus on their sweet baby Adalyn?
Rebekah and Joe ask that you keep their precious baby girl in your thoughts as she fights off this serious infection. Thank you.
