Hope for a Loving Father and Husband: Fund Randall’s Life pr

Donation protected
Dear Family, Friends, and Compassionate Strangers,
We come to you with a heartfelt plea. Randall has been diagnosed with stage 4 gallbladder cancer. The cancer has spread to his liver, colon, and lymphatic system.

Randall is in urgent need of funding for Duvarlumab (Imfinzi) an immunotherapy drug and we cannot do this alone. Despite our best efforts and requests to the medical aid, the cost of this immunotherapy treatment is unfunded.
The total cost of the required amount of cycles for Durvalumab (Imfinzi) Randall needs is R900 000.
About Durvalumab (Imfinzi):

Durvalumab, sold under the brand name Imfinzi, is an FDA-approved cancer immunotherapy developed by Medimmune/AstraZeneca. Durvalumab is an immune checkpoint inhibitor drug approved to treat patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma, bile duct cancer, and gallbladder cancer.
Based on the article that was published in the New England Journal of Medicine dated June 1, 2022, in which Duvarlumab (Imfinzi) plus chemotherapy significantly improved overall survival, versus placebo + chemotherapy alone. Statistically, there is a significant life-prolonging benefit with the addition of Duvarlumab (Imfinzi).

Randall’s family story:
Randall and I got married on the 8th of August, 2009, together for 22 years and married for 15 years, and have two children, 10-year-old Nikita and 14-year-old Kayla.

Over the past 22 years, our journey has not been easy. Randall's dad passed away in December 2007 due to multiple heart attacks, and my mom passed away in October 2012 from cancer.

In 2013, I was pregnant with twins, but unfortunately, one of the twins did not survive, which is known as vanishing twin syndrome. The surviving twin, Nikita, was given only a 2% chance of survival. Nikita was diagnosed with Complex Congenital Heart Disease - Tricuspid Atresia Type 1, Small PDA, Restrictive PDO. This condition meant that the right side of Nikita's heart had not developed properly and was not functioning as it should. There were also two blockages - one in the tricuspid valve and the other in the pulmonary valve.

Nikita underwent multiple lifesaving open heart surgeries, many cardiac catheterizations, and in this suffered many complications and therefore life-saving measures had to be taken twice.

During this time, Randall faced intermittent periods of unemployment but always sacrificed and worked through various means and ways to provide for us as a family. Despite the emotional, physical, and financial challenges, we persevered together with the help of God's love and grace.

Randall’s diagnosis:

After experiencing stomach pain and undergoing extensive tests, Randall was diagnosed with stage 4 gallbladder cancer. He is currently undergoing chemo treatment at the Wits Oncology Donald Gordon Medical Centre.
