On December 2, 2012, Taneisha Roby was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. In recent years, her symptoms have worsened - her speech has been slowed, she experiences tremors in her extremities, and she is now legally blind. Her mind is as keen and sharp as ever, but her ability to interact with theworld has been severely limited by MS.
Despite these setbacks, Taneisha is still filled with hope. Anyone who talks with her, or visits her at California Post-Acute Care in Lynwood, will hear about her ambitions to improve her relationship with her body, to one day work again, to be a mother. But though "T" is blind, her hope isn't. She's got a plan of action to turn her hope into meaningful change in her life. The first step for her is to rehabilitate her strength, so she can get back to a diet and fitness regimen designed to help mitigate her symptoms. She'd already been working to regain her ability to walk when she suffered a setback, falling and breaking her leg.
That's where Pools of Hope comes in.
Pools of Hope is a non-profit aquatic rehabilitation center. They specialize in helping people dealing with degenerative diseases, and it's a perfect place for Taneisha; her motor control issues are less of an issue when there's no hard ground to fall onto.
All proceeds from this GoFundMe will go towards getting T the rehabilitation her body needs, funding membership at Pools of Hope as well as special food for the ketogenic diet she requires that isn't on the normal menu at the facility she's currently staying at.
Your donation can help Taneisha regain control of her body, and in time, may even help her to do what she truly desires; to get back to the work of helping people and spreading love throughout the universe.
