Roya is a sanctuary scholarship student pursuing an MEd in Education for Human Rights & Equality. Her family has actively supported young girls' education and provided a safe house for women experiencing domestic violence. This has endangered their lives from the ruling authorities in their home country, with some family members being attacked and tortured. The family is now in hiding due to fear of further persecution and torture.

The good news is that the Irish Refugee Protection Programme for Humanitarian Admissions has recently confirmed its support for the Hope Community Sponsorship Group, led by Roya, Catherine Stapleton (Lecturer in Education at MIC), and Gearoid Murphy (Fianna Fáil Councillor, Fermoy), to help bring this family to safety in Ireland. Please support us in raising the mandatory €10,000 within four weeks so we can all help end the fear and bring this family to safety.
