Tasneem is my cousin, and we share a close and trusting bond. I've seen firsthand the challenges she and her family face in Gaza, and I want to do everything I can to support them during this difficult time.

Her message to the public is "My name is Tasneem, a final year student at the Faculty of Dentistry, Al-Azhar University. It is with a heavy heart and trembling hands that I reach out to you today, compelled by the urgent need to safeguard the lives of my beloved family and preserve my dreams of completing my education.

In the sanctuary of our humble home in Gaza, life once unfolded with tranquil simplicity. My father toiled the land, my mother wove handicrafts, and together, we found solace in the rhythms of our everyday existence. But alas, the specter of conflict has shattered our peace, leaving behind a trail of devastation and despair.

With each passing day, the horrors of war draw nearer, forcing us to flee our home repeatedly, seeking refuge amidst the rubble of broken dreams. Tragically, we have borne witness to the loss of loved ones, the destruction of homes, and the erosion of hope. Now, we find ourselves dwelling in a makeshift tent, where the biting cold of night, the relentless rain, and the ever-present fear gnaw at our weary souls.

In this desolate landscape, even the pursuit of knowledge has been snatched from our grasp. The university that once stood as a beacon of enlightenment lies in ruins, its halls silent and deserted. Yet, amid the chaos, my resolve to continue my education burns brightly, illuminating a path to a brighter future.

But this journey is fraught with obstacles, chief among them the exorbitant cost of escape. To flee Gaza's harrowing embrace, we must scrape together $5,000 per person—a daunting sum for a family of seven. And to pursue my studies abroad, a further $20,000 is required, a sum beyond our means in these dire times.

We stand at the precipice of destitution, our once-stable lives upended by forces beyond our control. Yet, in the midst of this turmoil, a glimmer of hope emerges—a beacon of light born from the kindness of strangers like you.
