Meet Ryan
To many people, Ryan is a passionate educator with a huge heart. The love he has for his wife, Samantha, his students, his cat, and the outdoors can be felt through his conversations and stories.
Ryan's family and friends can count on him to provide great advice, to fight for a cause with determination, and to make them laugh with sarcastic, comedic relief.
Ryan is a beloved, 5th grade teacher with over 20 years experience. Over the years, he has touched the lives of many students and their families. He is loved by his community and school family. Ryan went into education with the hope of changing student's lives, standing up for teacher's rights, and ultimately making the classroom the best place to be for both students and teachers. The world of education is very lucky to have Ryan on its side!
His Story
In February 2021, Ryan started seeking medical advice because he was experiencing some concerning symptoms. During the months of February to May, he had seen many doctors and still had no answers, however his condition was worsening.
On May 24, Ryan was given the official diagnosis of Hepatorenal Syndrome (HRS). HRS is a life-threatening condition that affects kidney function in people with advanced liver failure. With this diagnosis came the scary realization that the survival prognosis is dire. His best hope for survival is to receive a liver transplant immediately.
On May 27, Ryan was told that a possible transplant was available at Cedar Sinai Hospital in Los Angels, CA. This news gave Ryan hope. He is ready to fight for his life and beat this disease. Time is of the essence and he needs all the support he can get rather quickly.
Help Support Ryan
As Ryan focuses on his fight and prepares to be transported to LA, the medical bills are starting to arrive and the cost of the transplant procedure will add another huge bill to their pile.
As you can imagine, the burden of paying for treatment, the cost of everyday life, and both he and Samantha taking leave from work should be the least of Ryan and Samantha's worries.
At this time, Ryan and Samantha need all the love, support, and prayers they can get. Any donation amount given would be used to alleviate the stresses that come with a medical emergency and would be greatly appreciated by the Armitage family.
