Support Chef Big Rube’s Fight and Recovery

Reuben “Chef Big Rube” Harley is a pillar of creativity and culture of Philly—widely known for his cooking, sports knowledge, column in The Citizen Newspaper, fashion photography, street gazing, marketing expertise, and meaningful contributions to Black culture. Today, he is facing one of the toughest battles of his life.

Reuben has been diagnosed with heart failure, kidney failure requiring ongoing dialysis, and stage 4B prostate cancer. In the face of these overwhelming challenges, he continues to fight with remarkable strength, faith, and resilience. Even though he’s battling with these issues he continues to prepare great food.

Funds raised will help cover essential living expenses, including personal, housing, medical bills, medications, and transportation to and from critical doctor and dialysis appointments. This support will allow Reuben and his Lady, Stephanie, to focus fully on his healing and completing treatment, with the hope of returning to full-time work when his health allows.
