I never imagined that at 37 years old I would receive news that would change my life forever. My name is Araceli, and two years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Since that moment, I have fought with all my strength, holding on to the hope of overcoming this illness and moving forward for my children.
Now, two years later, I have unfortunately received even more difficult news. The cancer has spread throughout my body and is now at stage 4. I never imagined I would hear my doctors tell me that if the treatment stops working, there may be no other options left for me. It is a reality that has broken my heart and completely changed my life.
I am a mother to four boys, and they depend on me completely. I have always worked hard to provide for my family, but today my illness no longer allows me to do so. It is incredibly painful to see the bills and medical expenses continue to arrive while I do not have the resources to cover them. Even harder is facing each day with the fear of not knowing how much time I have left, while continuing to fight with all my strength to live and to be able to watch my children grow.
Every treatment, every medical appointment, and every day represents a new battle. My greatest wish is to still be here to hug my children, be there for them, and give them the love I still have to offer. For them, I continue fighting with faith and the hope that there is still a tomorrow.
I truly appreciate all the help and support from my family and community!
