Help Me Walk Again After Surviving Septic Shock

On July 16, 2025, I went to urgent care thinking I had a bad cold and shortness of breath. Instead, they immediately called an ambulance and rushed me to the hospital in respiratory failure.

I went into septic shock, had double pneumonia, and tested positive for Influenza A. I was unable to breathe on my own and was placed on life-support and put into a medically induced coma for 30 days. I have no memory of the next 45 days of my life.

During septic shock, I was treated with vasopressors, lifesaving medications that keep blood flowing to major organs. Unfortunately, these medications also drastically reduced blood flow to my extremities. As a result, my feet became gangrenous, and I ultimately underwent bilateral below-knee amputations.

In a very short period of time, I lost my mobility, my dog, my best friend, and my job. While that has been incredibly difficult, this fundraiser is not about what I lost—it’s about what I’m working to regain.

Why I’m Asking for Help

As a bilateral amputee, I need prosthetic legs to walk again and live independently. The total cost of my prosthetics is $60,000. My insurance covers a portion, but I am responsible for 20% out-of-pocket, which comes to $12,000.

I am raising funds to cover this out-of-pocket expense so I can continue my recovery, regain mobility, and move forward with my life.
