Hope and Hounds Beach Walk 2022
In 2019 myself and my sweet German Shepherd Lola took on the Hope and Helpful Hounds charity dog walk! Whilst it wouldn’t have been a physically demanding challenge to most of you, I was deep into a difficult recovery with a spine injury and to top it of, I had the flu. Yay for me.
This year the hope and hounds walk is back and we are raring to go again!
This walk is in support of two very important charities, Hope Housing Training and Support, and Helpful Hounds.
Hope housing works to provide a home for homeless adults across Dorset, as well as offering vocational education opportunities and support workers to keep their residents in tip top health, allowing them to plan for a better future.
Helpful hounds is a charity that trains assistance dogs and provides them to individuals with physical disabilities, Autism, mental health disorders, and to special needs schools.
When I approached Lola about the walk being back this year she was elated! She put the theme tune to rocky on the radio and did a slow motion training montage. It was quite the sight. However given her distinct lack of thumbs and overall inability to navigate the internet she asked me very politely to set up her fundraising page. Personally I think she’s just in it to get a medal from the mayor again.
We would love it if you could sponsor our charity dog walk (from pier to pier and back again) in any way that you can. It’s for a fantastic cause and the people who benefit from these charities could easily be you or I if the circumstances were different.
Thank you for every penny you donate, myself and Lola are both extremely grateful!
