HELP & HOPE FOR KATIE (Wright) RESAVAGE...
Dear Friends and Family,
As many of you know or are now learning, our youngest sister Katie has been struggling with her health for years and is now in need of a liver transplant. She is only 41 years old. She lives in Elmira, New York with her husband Bryan and children Alexis (15), Chloe (12) and Bryan (Little B)(age 8).
Through prayers and the grace of God, she was accepted at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL as a candidate for a liver transplant. She is currently enduring lots of testing and is awaiting placement on the “national waiting list” for a liver. Her medical team at Mayo Clinic has informed us that this is going to be a long road, even after surgery. She will be looking at a year or more of recovery due to the long-term demands of living with a liver transplant which include taking medications for the rest of her life and consistent evaluations by her doctors.
Although she is so happy and grateful for this hope, it leaves her a long way from her family, home and friends. Her husband, Bryan will have to return to work soon, as they will need their health insurance to help with the expense. Her children will need to continue school and their lives back in New York as their mother fights for her life in Florida. Family will need to travel back and forth until she is able to return home. Fortunately our mother, Mary K and her sister Julie (Aunt Dewey) Sheehan are able to be there and take care of Katie’s every day needs while Bryan will be commuting back and forth to NY to be there for their children and also travel for work. In addition, Bryan’s parents Chris and Danny will be staying with and carrying for Alexis, Chloe and Bryan and their everyday needs.
The cost will be astronomical. We are setting up this fund to help alleviate some of the financial burden and the immense travel and living expenses that will accumulate during this time and allow Katie to focus on what lies ahead. We will be posting updates on her health journey to recovery.
We are asking first and foremost for your prayers. Please donate whatever you can...whatever your heart allows...any amount is so greatly appreciated by the Resavage family and us! Thank you so much and God Bless.
Love and Prayers
Her loving family!!
