No family should ever have to hear the words “stage 4 metastatic breast cancer,” but our beloved Joan did.
In an instant, life changed for Joan, her partner John, and her two children, Robert and Morgan. What should be filled with everyday family moments is now filled with fear, appointments, and the fight of her life.
If you know Joan, you know she is one of the most kind, selfless, and funny people you could ever meet. She has a true gift for helping others and has always been the first to show up when someone needed support, comfort, or even just a reason to smile. As her best friend since high school, Joan and I have shared more memories than I can count, but one moment I will never forget is when we were 17 and she made me turn the car around and pull over so she could give a barefoot homeless man the shoes right off her feet. That’s who Joan has always been—selfless, compassionate, and always putting others before herself. She has spent so much of her life lifting others up, and now it’s our turn to lift her.
Joan is now facing surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy to help keep her cancer under control. For the past eight weeks since her diagnosis, she has quietly carried this burden, reluctant to ask for help and hesitant to lean on the friends and family who care so deeply for her. But as the emotional and financial strain on her family continues to grow, they have reached a point where support is truly needed
Because Joan is self-employed, this diagnosis means not only a difficult medical journey, but also an unknown amount of time away from work. We are asking for support to help ease the burden of medical bills, treatment costs, travel expenses, and everyday household needs, so Joan and her family can focus fully on her fight and on being together during this time.
Every donation, prayer, and share gives this family more hope, more support, and one less burden to carry alone.
Please help us rally around Joan and her family during the hardest chapter of their lives. Your kindness and generosity will mean more than words can ever express. ❤️
