On August 19, my nephew Calvin sustained extensive abdominal trauma following an automobile accident. He was rushed to St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital in Boise, Idaho, where he has since undergone abdominal surgery, countless x-rays and CT scans, and many sleepless hours in order to determine the full extent of his injuries.

Not only does he have the physical trauma of multiple severe injuries to overcome, but there is also the question of getting him home. Currently, Ben, Lindsay and Kyle are at the bedside in Idaho helping him through his hospitalization, but eventually, Calvin will need to come home to Milwaukee, likely via medical transport.

At this time, we don’t know how long he will have to stay in the hospital, but it is becoming increasingly clear that he has a long road to recovery ahead of him. At only six years old, I can’t imagine the pain and fear he is experiencing or the horror that his parents are currently living. We can’t be with them physically, but we can alleviate some of the financial burden that will be sure to come. Whatever amount you feel comfortable giving is very appreciated, thank you in advance for loving and supporting Calvin and his family.
