The last month has completely changed life for the Aguirre family. They’ve had an extremely long few weeks and have been trying to stay as optimistic as possible through this challenging time.
If you’ve already reached out with prayers and encouragement, thank you. If this is your first time hearing about it, we want to share that Weston was recently diagnosed with a form of brain cancer. At the moment, Stephen and Lorianne have chosen not to share the exact name or details, only because they don’t want family and friends researching and feeling unnecessary fear. What they can share is that Weston’s tumor was located in the posterior fossa, and the surgeons were successfully able to remove the entire tumor.
Since this journey began, Weston has already gone through three surgical procedures in just a few weeks. It’s been overwhelming, emotional, and extremely hard for the family to watch Weston go through all of this.
While they are incredibly thankful the tumor was fully removed, their journey isn’t over. Weston’s next chapter includes about 8–14 months of treatment, including radiation with a mixture of chemotherapy as part of his healing process.
On top of all of this, Weston was finally able to go home for one day, only to be re-admitted to the hospital for an infection that has puzzled doctors and has yet to bring clear answers. Their stay is now expected to continue through mid-February, if not longer.
Right now their days revolve around hospital rooms, doctors, consultations, waiting, and trying to keep life as normal and comforting as possible for both Weston and their daughter, Kennedy. Between surgeries, living at the hospital, treatments, time away from work, therapies, and caregiving, the practical side of this season has added up very quickly.
Stephen and Lorianne had no intention of creating a GoFund Me, but so many people have reached out asking how they can support. As their extended family, we've decided to create this page for anyone who feels led to support them financially while they solely focus on Weston’s healing journey.
More than anything, if you’re unable to support financially, all they’ve really asked for are continued prayers for Weston’s complete healing, as well as peace and comfort for him and their family throughout this journey.
Your love, prayers, and encouragement mean so much to us and especially them.
Thank you for your generosity and for being apart of Weston's Village.
