Hope and Healing for Thomas Estler

Donation protected
Hi, Lisa Estler here. I am fundraising for my brother-in-law, Thomas Estler. I have known Thomas for almost 40 years. Most of my memories of Thomas have been of him being the creative, active, health-conscious, fun, think-outside-the-box, connector, fitness instructor, etc. person in my life. He has lived a full, rich life in NYC for over 20 years. He is deeply connected to his community with friends, church family, fitness clients and others. Unfortunately, after a 16 month tug-of-war against his landlord to fight against the rampant mold in his apartment, he is being forced to leave his apartment of over 20+ years due to the incompetent effort the landlord has made to remediate his apartment. Thomas' health has gone from A+ athlete, energy bunny to not being able to get out of bed 5-6 days/week and not being able to use his brain to carry on a cohesive conversation, email, text, etc. At this point he is only able to eat, sleep, and exercise if able. As of July 1st, Thomas has found temporary housing in NYC so that he can be in a clean environment to begin restoring his health. We have interviewed a fantastic functional medicine doctor in Florida who will work with Thomas. I have gone through mold protocols with my own son and feel confident that Thomas will find hope and healing with this doctor. We researched doctors in NYC that follow the Shoemaker protocol and there are none. The cost for functional medicine outside of NY is out-of-pocket. This doctor is clear on our financial restrictions and is working with us to keep all protocols to the necessary but we need to do what's best for Thomas. There is a lot of diagnostic work required upfront in order to know how to proceed with supplements, detox, etc. We have a second meeting set up with the doctor on mid July to dial in a game plan. All that being said, Thomas' financial resources have dwindled to next to nothing. He has been unable to work for a year and a half and relies on city services for food provision. He needs your help in order to regain his health. The money raised will be used to complete blood work, pay the doctor's expenses, purchase supplements/medicine, and any other protocol required by the doctor. Thomas' prognosis is good once he is in a clean, mold-free environment and can begin treatment. Please be praying for restoration and healing for him. Thank you.
