My name is Talin, and I am a mother of six.
I never thought I would be writing these words or asking for help this way. But our family is living every parent’s worst nightmare.
On December 22, 2025, my 16-year-old son, Eli, tried to take his own life.
We had just returned from shopping and were back at our home when I heard a loud noise. My heart dropped. I ran, desperately searching for my child and I found him lying there, nearly lifeless, with a gunshot wound to his face.
No mother should ever see that.
No words can explain the terror, the shock, or the pain of that moment.
Eli was rushed into emergency care and has since undergone brain surgery, facial surgery, and plastic reconstructive surgery. Doctors repaired a spinal leak, placed a plate in his forehead, and reconstructed his mid-face. By the grace of God, there has been no brain damage and no infection so far. I truly believe God was with my baby in that room that day.
Right now, Eli is still fighting and we are fighting right alongside him in the ICU.
As a single mother, I have not left my son’s side. I cannot work. I cannot go home. Every hour is spent praying, waiting for updates from doctors, and trying to stay strong for my child while my heart feels completely shattered.
This fundraiser is not about extras or comfort. Only about survival.
The funds raised will help cover:
• Transportation (Ubers back and forth to the hospital)
• Food while living day-to-day at the hospital
• Hotel stays just to shower and rest when possible
• Ongoing household bills while I am unable to work
• Basic necessities while we wait to understand what the future holds
Right now, we are struggling but we are holding onto hope with everything we have.
I am asking first and foremost for prayers for Eli’s healing, for peace in his heart, for strength in his mind, and for comfort as he continues this fight to be here with us.
If you are able to donate, any amount helps more than you know. If you can’t donate, please share this. Every prayer, every share, every dollar makes a difference for my son.
I will update as often as I can when I hear from the doctors. Please understand that I will not be sharing photos of Eli’s face as he is underage, and I will never post images without his consent. I will do my best to share updates and photos that protect his privacy while keeping everyone informed. The images of what has happened to my son should ever be shared on such a public platform. As it is something no one should ever have to witness.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
Thank you for praying for my child.
Thank you for helping us survive this unimaginable season.
With gratitude and hope,
Talin
