South Korea is a land of incredible culture, innovation, and beauty. But beneath the glittering neon lights of Seoul, a silent epidemic is breaking the hearts of the younger generation. Under the crushing weight of hyper-competition, academic perfectionism, and deep societal isolation, thousands of young adults are drowning in emotional numbness.
For many, the pain has become too heavy to speak aloud. Instead, they wear long sleeves in the summer to hide a heartbreaking reality: self-harm has become a desperate physical cry for a release from internal agony. They feel completely invisible, deeply flawed, and utterly alone.
They don't want to end their lives; they just want the pain to stop. And standard societal answers—telling them to just "work harder" or "tough it out"—are only pushing them deeper into the dark.….
The Solution: A Story Hidden in Plain Sight
I believe that to reach young adults in their darkest moments, we have to go exactly where they are, using a medium they love, trust, and read every single day: Manga.
I am launching The Artisan’s Touch (장인의 손길), a beautifully illustrated, professional-grade manga graphic novel designed specifically for struggling Korean young adults. To ensure this project carries the highest level of artistic excellence and cultural authenticity, I am working directly with local artists in the South Korea area to create a work that will truly touch hearts. By collaborating with local creators who understand the exact nuances, aesthetic tastes, and emotional landscape of Seoul's youth, we will build a bridge of genuine empathy.
The story follows Min-jun, a young man hiding his physical and emotional scars under oversized hoodies, who stumbles into a late-night restoration workshop. There, he meets the Artisan, a compassionate craftsman who practices Kintsugi—the art of repairing broken pottery with pure gold.
It Meets Them with Empathy First:
The story never judges or stigmatizes mental health. It validates their pain, making them feel seen and understood by creators who know their culture intimately.
The Gospel, Crystal Clear:
Through the beautiful metaphor of the Artisan, the story masterfully weaves the message of Jesus. It reveals a Savior who doesn't reject us for our brokenness, but who lovingly paid the ultimate price, taking our scars upon Himself so we can find true peace.
A Clear Invitation to Christ:
The final pages provide a gentle, step-by-step guide and a simple prayer to accept Christ's unconditional grace, completely free of legalism or condemnation.
Where Your Support Goes
I cannot make this happen alone. Because I want to make this manga completely free to the young adults who need it most, we rely entirely on your generosity. I am taking absolutely zero profit from any of these publications.
Your donations will directly fund:
1 Supporting Local Artists & Production: Fairly compensating our talented local Korean artistic partners for their incredible work, alongside lettering and formatting costs.
2 High-Quality Printing: Producing professional, tankōbon-style manga volumes that young adults will actually want to pick up and read.
3 Localized Distribution & Groundwork: I will be traveling to Seoul for a week to personally oversee the initial distribution. As ongoing support comes in, our goal is to regularly print and ship batches of copies to leave with local churches, non-profits, youth counseling hubs, coffee shops, and local businesses for entirely free distribution.
Every copy printed will also feature a path to salvation as well as local, compassionate Korean crisis hotlines on the back pages and cover, ensuring that readers receive immediate support for both their spiritual and mental health needs.
Please give as the Spirit leads you
Both Financial and Prayer Support for this ministry are very much needed.
Thank You :)
