Hi, my name is Kalina, and I’m raising funds for my daughter, Sophia.
Sophia is a strong, kind, and resilient 13 year-old who has been living with dysautonomia and related health challenges that have dramatically changed her daily life.
Since last year, her symptoms have become so severe that she has been placed on homebound schooling. She is no longer able to attend school in person, participate in normal activities, or enjoy the social experiences most kids her age take for granted.
She was also forced to quit playing basketball, a sport she loved and worked hard at, because her body simply could not tolerate the physical demands anymore. Losing school, sports, and independence has been heartbreaking—not just physically, but emotionally as well.
At this point,Sophia struggles to leave the house and often has difficulty completing basic everyday self-care tasks that many people don’t think twice about. Simple things like brushing her hair, standing for long periods, showering, or going out can trigger overwhelming symptoms such as dizziness, fainting, pain, and extreme fatigue.
We have pursued care locally, but her condition requires specialized dysautonomia treatment that is not available near us. After extensive research, we have found an out-of-state dysautonomia clinic that focuses specifically on complex cases like hers and offers comprehensive testing and individualized treatment plans.
This clinic gives us hope—hope for answers, stability, and a better quality of life for our daughter.
Unfortunately, this level of care is not covered by insurance. The costs associated with medical evaluations, treatment, travel, lodging, and follow-up care add up quickly, creating a financial burden our family cannot manage alone.
How Your Support Helps
Funds raised will go toward:
• Specialized dysautonomia evaluations testing, and treatment.
• Travel expenses to and from the clinic
• Lodging during her treatment
• Meals while away from home
• Follow-up care and recommended therapies
Every donation—no matter the size—brings us one step closer to giving Sophia the care she desperately needs. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser means more than you know.
Thank you for taking the time to read her story and for supporting our family during this difficult journey. Your kindness, prayers, and generosity give us hope.
With gratitude,
Kalina
