My name is Scott Ware, and I am a 37-year-old man facing a complex and life threatening medical reality that has completely altered the course of my life. Until recently, I was working, insured, and actively building a future with my fiancée. We were planning a life together focused on stability, love, and the simple, meaningful moments that make a life whole. That future has been placed on hold as my health rapidly declined and my ability to support myself disappeared.
I live with multiple serious and chronic medical conditions, including:
- ➢ Specific Antibody Deficiency
- ➢ Idiopathic Pulmonary Hypertension (a terminal illness)
- ➢ MGUS
- ➢ Multiple blood disorders
These illnesses impact my immune system, heart, lungs, and blood, creating a constant and unpredictable medical burden. Managing these conditions requires ongoing medical supervision, daily medications, and consistent treatment in order to maintain even a basic quality of life. Pain, severe fatigue, and shortness of breath are part of my daily reality. Many days, simply standing, walking, or getting out of bed requires significant effort. My life is no longer measured by progress or milestones, but by whether my body can
function enough to get through the day.
A critical component of my care is a weekly infusion treatment, which must be administered once every week for the rest of my life. Each infusion takes approximately two hours, involves medication delivered directly under my skin, and is physically exhausting. Despite the toll it takes, these treatments are medically necessary and cannot be skipped without serious consequences.
Due to financial hardship, I have now been forced to go over two months without these infusions, placing my health at increasing risk.
FINANCIAL CRISIS
Recently, I lost my job and with it, my health insurance. Without coverage, the cost of my medications and treatments became impossible to manage.
To survive and keep a roof over our heads, I have:
- ➢ Depleted all personal savings
- ➢ Used most of my retirement funds
- ➢ Cut all nonessential expenses
Despite these efforts, I can no longer afford the medications my body depends on. I have been forced to stop taking critical treatments, and each day without them increases pain, fatigue, and the risk of irreversible health damage. I never imagined being placed in a position where I would have to choose between basic living expenses and life-sustaining medical care. The stress of this decision, combined with the physical toll of my conditions, has been overwhelming.
This fundraiser is not about comfort or convenience it is about survival.
Funds raised will be used exclusively for:
- ➢ Life-sustaining medications and weekly infusion treatments
- ➢ Ongoing medical care and physician visits
- ➢ Essential living expenses while I work to stabilize my health and regain medical coverage
Every contribution directly supports my ability to access treatment, manage my conditions, and continue fighting for my life.
MOVING FORWARD
I am doing everything I can to keep going. I am not giving up. But the weight of this situation has grown beyond what I can manage alone.
