We are starting this GoFundMe because so many people have reached out asking how they can help support the Beardsley family during this difficult time. More than anything, Jeff and Shannon are asking for continued prayers, love, and encouragement for Rylan.
Help Rylan Through Life-Saving Heart Surgery
At just 8 years old, Rylan was diagnosed with a rare congenital heart defect called Anomalous Coronary Artery (ACA). This means one of his coronary arteries developed in the wrong place and follows an abnormal path. This condition can be extremely dangerous, as it may restrict blood flow to the heart and can lead to chest pain, fainting, or even sudden cardiac death—especially during physical activity.
Since his diagnosis in 2022, Rylan has been closely monitored with regular testing and specialist care. We hoped things would remain stable, but in July 2025, we received unexpected and devastating news—one of his heart tests showed that his condition has progressed and his heart is now being compromised.
After months of additional testing, consultations, and second opinions from three different hospitals, Rylan’s doctors have determined that he now needs open-heart surgery.
Because Rylan also has only one kidney, his case is more complex and requires highly specialized care. After extensive research and guidance from multiple cardiology teams, it was determined that Boston Children’s Hospital is the best—and only—place to perform the specific surgical procedure he needs for the safest possible outcome.
