My niece, Myah, has become the victim of an unimaginable act of violence. May 14th, she was shot in a horrific and senseless act. An ex-boyfriend of a friend came to the home she was visiting and opened fire on her and her two friends.

Myah was critically injured and has endured two surgeries. She remains in the ICU on a ventilator, fighting for her life. Her lungs are very sick. She has suffered extensive injuries after being shot multiple times, including the loss of her spleen, injuries to her liver, stomach, and kidney, along with multiple broken bones. The road ahead will be long, difficult, and filled with uncertainty.

My sister, Shawna — Myah’s mom — has not left her side. The emotional and financial toll of this senseless tragedy has been overwhelming. We are asking for help with medical expenses, lost income, and the many challenges that lie ahead as Myah continues her fight toward recovery.
