For the past 16 years, my mother has lived in the shadow of seizures. What began as occasional grand mal seizures has slowly taken more and more from her. Over the past year, her condition has worsened to the point where she now suffers from daily absence seizures. Watching someone you love lose pieces of their independence and quality of life is heartbreaking.
After years of unanswered questions, her neurology team recently discovered a tumor that is believed to be causing the increase in her seizures. Hearing this was terrifying. But it also gave us hope. The tumor is operable, and surgery offers a chance for her to finally reclaim her life.
My mother is scheduled to undergo a 3-hour brain surgery on Thursday, January 29th. While we are hopeful, we are also scared. The surgery and recovery will be intense, and she will be unable to work for at least a month, possibly longer depending on how her body heals.
During this time, our family will be facing medical bills, lost income, and everyday expenses. All while trying to be there for her emotionally and physically. We are asking for any help you are able to give. No amount is too small. Every donation, share, and kind word means more to us than we can express.
Your support will allow us to focus on what truly matters helping my mother heal and giving her the chance to return to the life she deserves.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for standing with our family during this incredibly difficult time.
